Week 2 Ch 5 Comment

The book continues on the same topic I mentioned in the previous blog (Language being the source of Meaning). I like how the book puts it when it says, "meaning is not inherent in objects... meaning is negotiated through the use of language." The book goes on to talk about how as humans we can name things and build meanings behind words. I agree with Mead's beliefs that symbolic naming is the basis for human society.
