Week 2 Ch 4 Comment

In the Socio-Cultural Tradition section of chapter 4, the book brings up the idea that our reality is shaped by the language that we use. The example they use is being able to see, "green." One could be color blind and never know what people are talking about when they point out something as being green. On the other hand the book brings up the fact that many Native American languages don't have a word for green, yellow just fades into blue. It's wild to think that something you've grown up knowing as green could be someone else's purple, and there is no way to know exactly what someone else is seeing!
